Plane makes forced landing, catches fire on I-26, officials say

ASHESVILLE (WLOS) — A plane made a forced landing on Interstate 26 in Asheville Thursday night.
According to officials, the plane caught fire and snarled traffic for hours.
The Buncombe County Sherriff’s Office reported that two people were taken to the hospital.
An airport spokesperson recalled the aircraft reporting problems and saying that it needed assistance.
It then landed on the interstate.
It is currently unclear when the fire started.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has indefinitely closed Interstate 26 westbound in the area.
A detour has since been set up.
