Queen Azalea visits patients at children’s hospital

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — While she was out and about today, Queen Azalea Anna Kooiman made a stop at the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The queen joined by azalea princesses and azalea belles toured the facility and said hello to many of the young patients there.

Director of marketing and public relations Martha Harlan said she looks forward to this event every year.

“You smile all the way through your soul. It’s just so exciting. We have a little girl today who has her parade wave down and then we have another one who’s dying to try on a tiara so hopefully they will accommodate them today,” said Harlan.

Queen Azalea made sure those dreams came true. She made both girls feel like royalty and they even had a little Frozen song-a-long together.
