Tough road game awaits New Hanover football; Thursday soccer action from Hoggard and Laney
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In 2012 the New Hanover Wildcats knocked off Scotland County in high school football in Laurinburg. The Wildcats will get a chance to do it again on Friday night.
Scotland County goes in as a heavy favorite. New Hanover certainly has the ability to beat Scotland County, but the Wildcats haven’t shown anything on the field this season to make a lot of people believe it will happen. “We’re not clicking, and we need to be,” head coach Kevin Motsinger told WWAY on Thursday. “There have been times that we’ve been great, but we have to be more consistent. We have to be able to have back to back plays, get drives and get lined up and do our jobs. For everybody else in the state it’s week 5, but for us, it’s week 4. We’re still a week behind and it shows in our play.”
