What happened to the Carolina Beach ferris wheel?
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY)– If you’ve been on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk lately, you may have noticed a large attraction is missing.
The ferris wheel of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk has been taken down.
According to the Town of Carolina Beach, the ferris wheel sits on property owned by the town.
A private company called Cofer Construction owns the ferris wheel.
The town leases the land to the private company, and the lease expired earlier in December.
The town will discuss the lease, and if it will be renewed or not at a town council meeting in January to determine whether or not the ferris wheel returns to the boardwalk.
