East Columbus grad Joe Gore signs with Washington Redskins

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — Clemson senior offensive lineman Joe Gore wasn’t drafted in last week’s NFL Draft, but the East Columbus High grad is still headed to the NFL. Gore signed a undrafted free agent contract over the weekend with the Washington Redskins. He’s more than excited for the chance to make the Washington roster. “This is a dream come true,” Gore told WWAY.  “I always wanted to play in the NFL. This is my big opportunity right here, my big chance. It’s a surreal moment. I can’t believe it.  I want to do everything I possibly can to represent my school, my family, all of Columbus County and North Carolina the best I can.”
