Friends and families go to the movies for the holidays

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Christmas has come to a close, but people everywhere are still finding ways to spend time with family and friends. 

In Wilmington at Regal Mayfaire and IMAX, it was a busy day for folks catching flicks before returning to work, school, and everyday routines. 

Trinisia Carlton is from Warsaw. She said she and her family made their way to the movies to watch ‘The Color Purple.’ 

She said it was the perfect indoor activity on a gloomy day to end the holidays. 

“We’re such a blended family. With everybody being busy and going to different places everywhere, we’re excited to just link up and have family time together because that is very important,” Carlton said. 

Carlton, although thrilled to see her family, said her heart goes out to those missing loved ones during the holidays.
