State Democratic Party requests McCory’s travel records for trips to defend HB2
RALEIGH, NC (WAWY) — North Carolina Democratic Party filed an open records request to see who is footing the bill for Governor Pat McCrory’s trips to defending House Bill 2. He appeared on Meet the Press and Fox News Sunday to discuss HB2.
Patsy Keever, democrat party chairwoman, said HB2 is threatening billions in education funding for the state. Keever said that is what Governor McCrory should be focusing on.
“It’s clear that Governor McCrory intends to play political games instead of cleaning up this mess,” said Keever.
Our Raleigh affiliate WTVD reached out to the governor’s office which said taxpayers did pay for the flights. The governor’s office said it would be releasing the specifics of the travel expenses sometime soon but said there were no hotel costs involved.
