#ThisIsThePlace: Tony Silvagni continues surf culture in Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — If you have spent some time in the area, you’ve probably heard about Tony Silvagni.
Growing up in Carolina Beach, surfing has been a big part of his life and now he has been surfing competitive worldwide for more than twenty years.
He has travel to more than 26 different countries to longboard but says he couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
“It’s got such a diverse group of people. We are able to teach people how to surf here on Carolina Beach, be able to be an impact to the community, be able to share and be a mentor to the youth and help out with local charities surf contests that I have put on. I just love it here,” Silvagni said.
Tony is also a business owner in the town who teaches surf lesson and camps throughout the year.
