Ashley High School honors students with Academic Signing Day

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Ashley High School hosted its first ever Academic Signing Day.

Twenty students will receive full scholarships to college, totaling more than $5 million.

Senior Ryan Keller said the student council thought it was important to recognize students of high academic standing.

“They came up with the idea to have an academic signing day, sort of a public thing,” Keller said.

Organizers said they plan to make Academic Signing Day an annual event at Ashley High School.
