Clinton closing in on delegate count to clinch nomination

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Hillary Clinton is just delegates away from seizing the Democratic presidential nomination.

After this weekend’s primary victories in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, Clinton is 26 delegates short of the number needed to win the nomination.

That’s according to an Associated Press count.

Now, the contest heads to California, where Clinton says she wants to “finish strong” in Tuesday’s primary.
