CLOSE ENCOUNTER: Shark bites surfer’s board on Folly Beach
FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) — A close encounter with a shark Tuesday morning took a chunk out of Jack O’Neil’s surf board.
According to O’Neil, he was out Tuesday morning, taking advantage of the great waves on Folly Beach when the encounter happened.
O’Neil says his encounter with the shark happened in the area of Fourth Street on Folly around 11:30 a.m.
“I was paddling to the right and something came up and knocked my board,” O’Neil said.”I fell off my board, turned around and the bottom was all ripped off.”
