Dog alerts NC family to motor home fire which spread to garage


VANCEBORO, NC (WCTI) — A family’s motor home caught fire while it was parked in the driveway in Craven County. The fire then spread to their garage.

The homeowner, Kim Moore, told us the fire started at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Moore said the family’s dog woke her up and alerted her to the fire at Webster Lane in Vanceboro. The fire started in the family’s motor home in the driveway and then spread to their 3-car detached garage.

Moore said the motor home and a brand new truck were destroyed. She also said there was significant damage to the garage.
