Car crashes into Whiteville Post Office on Monday

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — In Columbus County on Monday an SUV crashed into a government building. 

At around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, a Toyota RAV4 and its two passengers ran into the Whiteville Post Office on Lee Street. 

Whiteville Police Responded to the accident. No one was injured. 

Post office employee Melanie Thompson said she initially thought the crash was an earthquake. 

She said she is glad no one was hurt, despite the shattered front glass.
