Adopt an oyster this Valentine’s Day with NC Coastal Federation

CAPE FEAR, NC (WWAY)– If you are still searching for that perfect gift for that special someone, why not do something poles apart this Valentines Day and adopt an oyster!

The North Carolina Coastal Federation is encouraging folks to adopt an oyster this Valentine’s Day to restore our coast, and give oysters a bright future in our coastal waters.

Adoptions not only provide a special gift for that special someone, but it also provides critical funding to support oyster restoration efforts in North Carolina.

Adoption comes with short, quirky updates about your oyster, as well as a variety of benefits at different adoption levels. You can also adopt an oyster in honor of a friend.

Optional adoption certificates can be requested to print at home at any time.

You can adopt one oyster for $5, a dozen for $40, or even a half bushel for $250.
