Recent Wilmington tree giveaway sets record, giving away 500 trees in 80 minutes
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A tree giveaway in Wilmington on Saturday was scheduled to run until 12:00 p.m., but didn’t last nearly that long.
All 500 trees available were snatched up by eager attendees in just 80 minutes.
That’s a record turnout, according to the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees.
The next tree-related event is a tree planting on February 10th.
