Brunswick County Medical Center gives back with “Soup or Bowl” food drive
BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — The staff at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center are giving back to the community in a unique way by hosting a “Soup or Bowl” food drive on Friday.
All of the different departments within the hospital collected more than 1700 donations from staff.
In first place, with the most donations per person, was the Supply Chain Department.
Volunteer Coordinator Christie Delbridge said they started the drive as a unique way to serve the community.
“We just decided to do something fun this year,” Delbridge said. “Our hospital team members love to give back to the community and we thought this was a very creative way to do it in conjunction with the Superbowl.”
The food items will be donated to Brunswick Family Assistance, a non-profit that provides food security for people in Brunswick County.
