Two Southport women arrested on dozens of drug-related charges

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A pair of Southport women were recently arrested on dozens of drug-related charges.

Katherine Hewett Cribb, 52, and Audrey Thompson, 64, were arrested on Thursday.

Cribb is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of firearm by a felon, among many other charges.

Thompson is charged with the same two charges, among many other charges.

The investigation was initiated after the Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips and complaints from residents in the area. A search warrant of the residences on Trails End Rd in Southport was conducted on Thursday, February 15 which law enforcement says resulted in the seizure of 155 grams of cocaine, 8.5 crams of crack cocaine, 64.7 grams of marijuana, over $38,000 in cash and 5 firearms (3 stolen).

Both Cribb and Thompson were booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center where they remain. Cribb received a $850,000 bond while Thompson received a $635,000 bond.
