Fire destroys vehicle, house in Wrightsboro community

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A fire destroyed a vehicle and house in the Wrightsboro community Sunday morning.
New Hanover County Fire Rescue crews responded to the blaze around 6:30 a.m.
Wrightsboro Station 11 firefighters say they could see the black smoke billowing in sky as they left the bays. When crews arrived the home was fully engulfed and the heat from the fire had started to melt the siding of a neighboring home.
In ten minutes crews were able to get the fire under control, preventing any further damage to other neighboring residents.
No occupants were at home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
