A snowy winter in Wilmington… Delaware
Cold and snowy and full of headaches. This winter has been one of the worst on record across the country.
Here in the Port City, we’ve been much colder than usual, but you might be surprised to know that Wilmington has had over sixty inches of snow this year.
Of course we haven’t had that much snow here – but our friends in Wilmington Delaware have. Its been one storm after another, three Nor’easters in February alone.
For many big cities this winter’s been a record breaker. Sixty-eight inches have fallen in Wilmington compared to only eighteen on average. In Washington its their snowiest winter ever with more than four times their average.
Up in the port city to the north, they’re getting tired of the snow.
“It is absolutely the most snow I’ve ever seen,” says Sheree Sciavicco. “Just in the last two weeks, back to back over the weekend and two days during the middle of the week and over a foot of snow each time. We just, we’re done. We don’t want anymore snow.”
But unfortunately they’re going to get more snow. This current storm isn’t over with just yet, and the whole month of March lies ahead.
