One week passes since the murder of Murrayville woman, sister speaks out
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — It’s been one week since the death of a New Hanover County woman who was killed near the Murrayville community.
WWAY spoke with the sister of the 36-year-old victim.
“Now I don’t know how I’m going to do it because she was my biggest supporter,” Cynthia Danielle Allen’s Sister, Victoria Allen, said.
In the early morning hours of March 4, New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies found the body of 36-year-old Cynthia Danielle Allen inside a home in the 5000 Block of Bavarian Ln., near Murrayville.
31-year-old Darius Williams is accused of shooting and killing her.
Cynthia’s sister, Victoria Allen, said she and Cynthia’s family were not aware of the domestic violence situation Cynthia was in.
“She hid it from all of us. She didn’t want us to know what she was going through because none of us really knew this,” Allen said. “If we would’ve knew this, we would’ve done everything in our power to help her get away from him.”
Darius Williams had active warrants relating to felony stalking, breaking and entering, larceny, and violation of domestic violence protective order—all from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Allen said Cynthia’s story shouldn’t have ended that day. She said her mission now is to bring awareness to the reality of domestic violence.
“We’re going to make a change. Something has to give before it’s one of their family members because any woman can go through this,” Allen said.
Allen said she doesn’t want Cynthia to become a statistic.
She said she wants her sister’s story to be the one that makes a difference. She encouraged anyone who may be dealing with domestic violence to seek help.
