Bringing healthcare to your doorstep as Novant Health unveils new mobile mammography unit
BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Novant Health is hitting the road to protect women’s health.
Novant’s new mobile mammography unit will provide quick and easy access to breast cancer screenings.
This new bus includes new equipment such as 3D scanning, which will be less painful for patients and give clearer results.
Heather King is the president and chief operating officer of Novant’s Brunswick Medical Center.
She said it’s great to be able to bring this technology to so many people.
“Being able to take this technology to our patients where they need it is gonna be key to saving lives in early detection,” King said. “This allows us to treat all patients and to be able to go to those and give them the care when and where they need it.”
King said women 40 years old and up should have a mammogram, along with men who have a family history of breast cancer.
