Man pleads guilty to accessory after the fact in 2018 murder of state highway patrol trooper

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man has made a plea in connection to the 2018 death of State Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Conner.
Raheem Davis pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
He’s been sentenced to at least five years in prison.
Conner was fatally shot while conducting a traffic stop for a speeding violation on US 701 in Columbus County on October 17, 2018. Davis was a passenger in a white GMC Sierra pickup truck that was stopped by Trooper Conner moments before his shift was set to end.
Trooper Conner approached the driver side window where Chauncey Askew, who was the driver of the vehicle, fired multiple gunshots, killing Conner. Askew then drove from the scene with Davis in the passenger seat.
Chauncey Askew was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole back in January.
