Vehicle crash closes US-17 South ramp near Leland, leading to major backups

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A vehicle crash caused major backups in Leland Tuesday afternoon.

The ramp to US-17 south was closed due to the crash, according to the NCDOT.

The single-vehicle accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. and caused impacts for nearly an hour.

One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

NCDOT said the crash was cleared just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, and the ramp has reopened.
