NHC Commissioners approves cell towers construction

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Commissioners unanimously voted in favor of adding new cell towers in the county at their meeting Monday.

The commission awarded Milestone Communications the bid to develop and manage wireless telecommunications facilities.

Officials say they were approached several months ago to lease land to construct wireless towers.

Vice-chairman Jonathan Barfield says that this would bring more money to the area and was excited about moving forward with the project.
