The Port City ACC branch hosted their cleanup at Greenfield Park, volunteers competed to see who could pick up the most trash in three hours. The national campaign was held in anticipation of Earth Day on Monday.
Branch leader Joseph Hill established the Port City ACC two months ago. He said the mission of the branch is the same as others across the county.
“If we want to leave a clean world for the generation after us, and for their generation after them. it’s important that we take action now,” he said.
Hill added the branch plans to host at least one event a month. You can stay up to date with future events by following @portcityacc on Instagram.
