Wilmington’s Bellamy Museum looking for volunteers
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A historic downtown Wilmington landmark needs help with everyday operations and special events.
The Bellamy Museum has been in operation since 1994 and thousands of visitors stop by the museum each year.
Visitors get a unique perspective on social history in the century following the Civil War and volunteers help make that happen. That’s why the museum is looking for a few people to lend a hand.
Executive Director of Bellamy Mansion Gareth Evans said Tuesday the mansion held an open house event to allow those interested in volunteering a chance to better understand their day-to-day responsibilities.
“A social history site like this really gets you in tune with the place you live, the history of what was here, why it is what it is now, that kind of thing. So, that’s where people really dig in. If you’re into history, or you’re into community, you’ll like this,” Evans said.
You can sign up to volunteer by showing up in person at the Bellamy mansion or sending them an email on their website.
