Water main failure reported in Sunset Beach

SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Sunset Beach says crews are working to repair a water main that failed.

According to a news release, Brunswick County Public Utilities (BCPU) has experienced a 12-inch water main failure at the intersection of Park Road and Sunset Blvd. North. The town says BCPU is working on shutting off the water supply from Highway 179/904 and Seaside Road intersection to Clubhouse Road at Sea Trail.

The town says residents and businesses may experience a water shortage. Boiling water is recommended at this time. It is not known how long repairs may take. The eastbound lane of Sunset Blvd. North will remain closed until further notice.
