Scam paver banned from NC

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — A contractor with a history of pressuring consumers into expensive driveway paving work is now banned from all residential paving in North Carolina.

Tommy Clack got his start in the Wilmington area, and has also conned residents in other parts of the state. He would promise consumers a good deal, claiming he had asphalt leftover from other jobs. He would then do shoddy work, with poor quality materials.

At the Attorney General’s request, a judge found Clack guilty of contempt today. He has been ordered to refund consumers who filed affidavits in the case. If Clack does not pay by July, he will be put in jail.
