Crews get ready to clean up debris after Hurricane Matthe
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hurricane Matthew is expected to leave debris all across the area. But what happens after the storm with the clean up process?
American Property Experts already cleared a spot on its lot for the debris from Matthew. The space will soon all be full with debris for crews to dispose of.
After the hurricane Wilmington officials say people can leave their tree limbs and debris on the side of the street for the city to pick up, but it’s not just a place to leave your fallen trees.
“The good news is nothing goes to waste,” American Property Experts President Jason Thompson said. “We’ll recycle every bit of it here as you can see. It will be turned into a boiler fuel for electricity. Some of it will be turned into colored mulches. But we recycle everything and nothing is wasted.”
Thompson says people should be careful when cleaning up, especially when using equipment like chainsaws.
