Wilmington man facing felony firearm charge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington teenager has received a felony firearm charge.
Braxton Billings, 18, of Wilmington was arrested on June 12th and charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Firearms.
WPD units say they responded to a residence in the 700 block of North McMillian Avenue in reference to a check welfare following reports that a nearby apartment had been recently struck by gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers say they identified the smell of drugs coming from inside of the apartment.
A search warrant was executed and officers say they located six firearms, three of which were reported stolen. Ammunition and marijuana were also located, according to police.
Billings was booked into the NHCSO Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
