Inmate dies at Duplin County Detention Center
DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An inmate has died at the Duplin County Detention Center.
The SBI received a request on June 11th from the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an in-custody death at the Duplin County Detention Center.
The person who died has been identified as Christie Alexandria Bell.
The Sheriff’s Office says Bell was discovered unconscious in the early morning hours by jail staff.
Lifesaving measures were attempted, however, Bell was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The SBI investigation remains ongoing.
