Brunswick Co. ends State of Emergency, though water restrictions continue
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County will lift its State of Emergency at noon today as work on the bypass around the break in a water main that supplies raw water to area utilities nears completion, but water restrictions remain in place.
According to a news release, crews are working on the final steps to get the bypass up and running. When that’s done they will test the bypass to make sure it is working correctly. If work continues without unexpected problems, that could happen over the weekend and Monday, the county says.
Brunswick County remains in a Level 2 Water Emergency, and water restrictions remain in place. Restrictions will not be changed until the bypass is operational, tested and carrying water to treatment plants as expected.
When changes are made to water usage restrictions, Brunswick County will notify its customers by use of the CodeRED system, email list serve, social media, website and media. To sign up for CodeRED notifications by phone call, text message or email click here.
