Wilmington reacts to Trump victory

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It was a mixed bag of emotions in Downtown Wilmington this afternoon some excited to see Donald Trump move to the White House and other saddened by America’s choice for Commander in Chief.

Most people agreed they are glad that the election season is over, however there was some disagreement on how things played out and what is best for the people.

Some say they are ready for Trump to move to Washington DC and implement policies that excited them to vote for him in the first place, while others believe he was the wrong choice for America.

“I’m very happy with it. During all the polling before the election, I don’t think they asked the average person what they thought,” said Ranald Novotny

“If you want my honest opinion I feel like America is going down and it’s not going to get any better from this,” said Savannah Jacocks.
Some people said they are anxious about what is in store for the country, while others are optimistic a change for the better is on its way. Donald Trump will be sworn into office on January 20.
