Galloway Hall demolition begins at The University of North Carolina Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Demolition has begun on The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s first dormitory, Galloway Hall.
Galloway was completed in 1971 and during its prime, housed as many as 400 students.
However, wear and tear on the building has left it unutilized by the University.
Plans for what is replacing Galloway Hall have not yet been solidified.
Grad Student Mackenzie Lewis shared her opinion on what she hopes UNCW will do with the new space.
“I’m excited to see what they put there. Maybe a new dorm? I hope it’s parking that’d be really nice,” Lewis said.
Galloway Hall demolition will be ongoing but will take a brief pause for college move-in August 16th through August 19th.
