Keep safe in the kitchen for the holidays

It’s just about that time to hit the kitchen to put together that holiday feast.  And that means the risk for fire and other dangers increases.  The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates an average of about 1,400 cooking fires on Thanksgiving Day each year.  That’s more than three times the average number of cooking fires each day throughout the rest of the year.

Fried turkeys also add to the potential risks.  Since 2004, the CPSC is aware of 107 fire or burn incidents involving turkey fryers that have caused 47 injuries and $5.2 million in property loss.

The CPSC has compiled a great list of smart tips to keep in mind while cooking.  You can find those and other information by clicking this link.
