Attempted assassination of former President Trump leaves local lawmakers concerned
Both sides of the aisle are reflecting on Saturday’s shooting. Especially when it comes to the safety and security at events where there is a large crowd.
With such divisiveness between Republicans and Democrats… Representative Ted Davis hopes there’s more unity between the parties.
While representatives Deb Butler believes this sends a message to increase security.
“If anything good could come from it, I hope the Secret Service will double their efforts to keep their political responsibilities
protected,” Butler said.
“Somehow people have got to come together and cut out this hatred for each other and acting out against each other. And let’s try to get along with one another. We are supposed to all be Americans,” said Davis.
Both Butler and Davis sympathize with the family of the man who was shot and killed at the rally.
