One Tree Hill star raises $5,000 for Hurricane Matthew victims

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  A One Tree Hill star raised thousands of dollars for Hurricane Matthew victims at a guest appearance this weekend.

You may know James Lafferty as “Nathan Scott” from One Tree Hill. Lafferty returned to Wilmington for the fundraiser at Tavern Law 1832 on Friday.

That is where dozens of people lined up to see Lafferty guest bartending. Lafferty reached out to the owners of the bar weeks ago asking how he could help the area he called home for eight years during the show.

The owner of Tavern Law said they raised more than $5,000 for the North Carolina Men’s Baptist Relief and a large box of toys for Toys for Tots.
