Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12196 to hold clothing drive next week
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Some veterans in the Cape Fear who are holding a clothing drive need your help.
Leland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12196 will be holding a clothing drive from July 22nd to July 29th.
The Post is asking for donations to be made for veterans and the homeless.
The VFW is a non-profit organization operated by veterans, for veterans.
Junior Vice Commander Christopher Pilloton said there’s a great need for these items.
“We believe our service has continued even though we’ve been discharged some of us quite a long time ago,” Pilloton said. “But yeah we still continue to feel that we have to serve the community and provide our service accordingly and thats what we do.”
Area businesses have agreed to partner with Post 12196 to serve as drop-off points.
The list of businesses are:

- Pants
- Underwear
- Socks
- Jackets
- Pajamas
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Soap
- Shampoo
- Comb/brush
- Deodorant
- Razor
- Feminine hygiene products
- Wet wipes
