Salvation Army helps one of their own

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Major Richard Watts and his wife have done so much for those in need at the Salvation Army.

Now, they are in need of some of the same help they have offered.

Watts and his wife Virginia have given their time to the Salvation Army for years to help those who are in tough situations.

Their home recently caught on fire.

It caused serious damage and destroyed some family heirlooms.

Now, the very same organization they do so much for, is giving back.

“The Salvation Army is very good to people and now I can say from personal experience, it’s been very good to me.”

They are staying with friends as repairs are made.

The Salvation Army will help replace some of their items.

Major Watts says that this makes both he and his wife appreciate what they have this time of year.
