Ruff Draft Brewing hosts event with Anson County Animal Shelter

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Ruff Draft Brewing collaborated with a totally “paw”-some cause.

The Anson County Animal Shelter joined Ruff Draft Brewing in Wilmington for a Paw-Pup Market.

The event featured food vendors and toys for your furry friends as well as The Anson County Animal Shelter for meet-and-greets with dogs available for adoption.

One of the dogs up for adoption is Molly. She is three years old and has been at the shelter for about five months.

Akemi Raish, a volunteer for the event, shared why this event is crucial for dogs like Molly.

“We’re trying to get our dogs out of our rural county of Anson and give them more exposure in a larger city with a bigger population to find them forever homes,” Raish said.

If you weren’t looking to adopt, The Big Paw Project, an advocacy group for local shelters, collected donations for any shelters in need.

This included food, toys, treats, and anything bacon-flavored.
