Columbus County Finance Director resigns

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County is looking for a new Finance Director.

According to County Manager Ed Madden, Lacey Jacobs resigned around 3:40pm Tuesday afternoon, effective immediately.

Madden says the resignation comes nearly a month after commissioners had to approve a $5.5 million budget amendment.

Additional details surrounding Jacobs’ departure are not available at this time.

Madden says an interim Finance Director will be appointed, possibly as early as Wednesday.
