WFD to tear down fire station with mold

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington fire station with mold will be torn down.

The Wilmington Fire Department says a report from the industrial hygienist that conducted the mold analysis of Station 2 at Empie Park indicates several types of mold were found and some were at elevated levels.

The station will not reopen. instead plans for demolition and site preparation will begin.
