WWAY says goodbye to Taylor Yakowenko

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — There is some bittersweet news at WWAY, and that’s because it is Taylor Yakowenko’s last week on air here in Wilmington.

You’ve seen her on Good Evening Wilmington every Wednesday this past year with tips for your Humpday Health, as well as our other WWAY newscasts.

Taylor will be moving to Louisiana to be the new morning anchor at KNOE 8 News, our CBS affiliate, in Monroe.

Taylor is a graduate of UNCW and started at WWAY in 2013 as a Production Assistant.

She moved in front of the camera in 2014 as a reporter and more recently as a fill-in anchor.

Although we’ll be sad to see her go, we’re so proud for her to take the next step in her career.
