Red Cross Invites Community to Give the Gift of Life on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Red Cross invites the Wilmington community to donate blood on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Vicki LaBelle, executive director of the Cape Fear Area Red Cross says, “Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is a day of service. It’s a time to give back to our neighbors who need our help the most.”
Participants can donate at Scotts Hill Baptist Church on Monday, January 16th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The blood drive will help the American Red Cross replenish blood supplies. There were 37,000 fewer donations in November and December because of hectic holiday schedules for regular donors. Snowstorms and severe weather have also impacted donations.
