UNCW just outside Top 25 in latest polls

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The UNCW men’s basketball team keeps winning, but it’s still not enough to crack the national rankings.

The Seahawks remain just outside the Top 25 in the latest polls released today.

Kevin Keatts’s squad received 14 votes in the Associated Press poll of sports writers. That’s 28th most in the country. The Seahawks are 27th in the USA Today Coaches Poll with 27 votes.

UNCW is in sole possession of first place in the CAA standings. Saturday’s win at home over Drexel pushed the Seahawks’ record to 19-2 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

UNCW hits the road for a pair of games in Virginia this week. They travel to James Madison Thursday and William & Mary Friday. They return home Feb. 2 for a game against Charleston.
