Pender County offers Hurricane Matthew Housing Assistance session
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Pender County is urging residents impacted by Hurricane Matthew to attend a session on future grant funding assistance.
County and State officials will be on hand Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to answer questions and help people apply for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding.
The meeting will be held at the Pender County Administrative Building, 805 S. Walker Street, in Burgaw.
Funding will provide 100 percent of the costs to elevate or rebuild hurricane-damaged structures in Pender County.
“This is an opportunity to seek long-term housing assistance through FEMA and the State of North Carolina that will help in rebuilding resilient communities,” said Kyle M. Breuer, Director of Pender County Planning and Community Development.
“We want to get assistance to as many citizens as we can that were impacted by the storm.”
