DMV seeks applications for new license plate agency in Southport

RALEIGH, NC (NEWS RELEASE) -— The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is seeking applicants to operate a license plate agency in the Southport area. The current lease for the agency has expired and is open for renewal.

The agency currently located at 4831 Port Loop Road, Unit 2 will continue to operate on a month-to-month basis until a new contract is established. DMV’s policy is to seek new applicants whenever a contract expires or ends.

LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, about 120 license plate agencies operate across North Carolina.
