2 arrested after Lincolnton officer dragged
LINCOLNTON, NC (AP) — A man and woman have been arrested after
a Lincolnton police officer was dragged by a pickup truck.
Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Cashen of Lincolnton and
19-year-old Jada Mitchem of High Shoals were arrested Tuesday.
Police say officer Richard Harrington was dragged about four
blocks after he made a traffic stop on the driver of the pickup
truck.
Sgt. William Vaughn says Harrington suffered scrapes and
bruises.
Cashen is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting
serious injury, second-degree burglary, larceny, felony speeding to
elude arrest and possession of a gun by a felon.
Mitchem is charged with second-degree burglary and larceny.
It wasn’t clear if the two have attorneys.
