UNCW college move-in: Takeaways from the Chancellor

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY)– College move-in at the University of North Carolina Wilmington kicked off on Friday and wrapped up Saturday afternoon.

In response to feedback from previous move-in years, UNCW made several improvements.

Move-in times were staggered to keep traffic manageable on campus and College Road- and important forms were filled out prior to coming to campus.

Once families arrived at the dorms, volunteers were there to assist.

Chancellor of UNCW Aswani Volety attributes this years move in success to the dedication of UNCW’S student volunteers:

“15 to 20 volunteers swoop in take all the stuff; stuff magically disappears and it reappears in the room and honestly we get a lot of compliments but it’s because of the students and the community members helping us and we are very thrilled,” said Volety.

Chancellor Volety also highlighted the UNCW mobile app.

The app provides information on bus routes and dining hall hours, helping students and parents navigate the campus throughout the school year.
