STORMTRACK 3: High winds across the area Tuesday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wind gusts across the area Tuesday were impressive to say the least as a cold front rushed from west to east.
This front brought strong, to at times severe thunderstorms to the area that were powerful enough to bring down some branches and cause minor wind damage and a few scattered power outages.
Here’s a list of some of the highest gusts from southeastern North Carolina:

The Tornado warning was issued around 12:30 p.m. for a possible waterspout that was close to coming ashore in Oak Island and Caswell Beach. There has not been any confirmation of a tornado touchdown at this time.
